    Essential Functions of the Role:

    The Project Engineer assists Program Managers in leading integrated product teams (IPT) and execution of key business projects, with focus on the technical aspects of the project product development. Daily oversight of project execution is the primary responsibility of the project engineer, including oversight of hardware and software design process, engineering material procurement, new product design verification and qualification testing. Customer interface and transfer of new product design to manufacturing, leading regular IPT meetings, and regular reporting of project status to program and executive management are other key project engineer responsibilities. The project engineer will work closely with the program manager to define project charter, scope of work, baseline schedule, budget, and resource allocation.


    Requirements:
    • Engineering degree with min 5 years’ experience managing complex engineering projects with diverse teams.
    • Skilled in developing and managing detailed project schedules with input from all stakeholders. Able to perform schedule analysis as necessary (critical path analysis, what-if scenarios, etc.)
    • Ability to responsibly manage a budget and make sensible financial decisions relative to the respective project
    • Familiar with performing risk assessments and analysis to make project decisions based on limited information
    • Familiar with phase-gate design process and key design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, MRR) for new product developments
    • Ability to quickly pull together manhour, cost and schedule estimates
    • Ability to prepare and implement detailed project execution plans, including, but not limited to, scope definition, schedule, budget, communication, and procurement strategies
    • Ability to coordinate and conduct effective meetings and follow up with detailed minutes of meeting, action item list, as well as provide detailed reports to internal and external stakeholders as necessary
    • Ability to assist in solving complex engineering problems and making key technical decisions to drive the project forward
    • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including MS Project
    • Ability to develop professional relationships with stakeholders as well as manage difficult personalities and resolve conflicts quickly
    • Excellent leadership and coordination skills. Able to lead, develop, motivate and supervise IPT members. Must be able to make the hard decisions and be accountable for those decisions.
    • Ability to work on many challenges simultaneously and resolve quickly
    • Ability to manage projects effectively with limited supervision
    • Ability to smoothly pivot and reforecast when things don’t go according to plan
    • Extremely motivated to deliver on time, on budget, or better. Self-driven to continuously improve.
    • Good understanding of change management and avoidance of scope creep
    • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders. Must be able to communicate with confidence and quality.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing documentation (Bill of Materials, Assembly Drawings and Instructions, Production Travelers, etc.)


    Nice to have:

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate a plus.
    • Experience with military and airborne projects a plus
    • Familiarity with Agile PLM software and SAP a plus
    • Familiarity with printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) development
    • Familiarity in a production environment
    • Familiarity in RF and electronic system
    • Familiarity in Software development


    Physical requirements:

    • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required typing and other MS applications
    • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
    • Must be able to sit for an extended period of time
