Responsibilities
Develops short and long-term plans to direct the university’s construction, renovation, and remodeling projects.
Administers IHL system, Bureau of Building, and MDOT project development, design and construction management policies and procedures. Monitors budget to ensure compliance with project requirements. Coordinate and review change orders and recommend and/or authorize changes as needed. Ensure project timelines are met. Prepare reports, review submittals and construction schedules, and monitor construction on site.
Develops reports, timelines, and budgets to support capital projects as well as the repair, renovation, and replacement of university buildings and infrastructure.
Develops and monitors Facilities Management project budgets. Responsible for space management, utility consumption, information technology, and other related administrative functions.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school of architecture, engineering or other related field is required. A master’s degree in related field is preferred. More than 3 years of related experience is required with an emphasis on university/higher education projects preferred. Professional experience in planning and design is required. A combination of professional experience in planning and design, design/build project management, and construction and maintenance management experience may be considered. LEED and PMP certification is desirable. Must maintain a current, valid Mississippi driver’s license.
