Primary Responsibilities:
Full Time CAD Drafting Position - Beryl Engineering is looking for a full time CAD Drafting technician to fulfill project specific AutoCAD drawing/detail orders for use in Residential and Commercial Construction/Rehabilitation. This person will work closely with engineers and other peers to provide deliverables on time and within a budget.
Our CAD Technician will develop and draft drawings for concrete, steel and wood structures.
Most drawings will be subject to a building department permitting process, so experience preparing engineering drawings, attention to detail, thoroughness, and responsiveness to client/co-worker requests are a must.
In this position our CAD Technician will inherit an extensive CAD drawing library to build templates from for future designs. These existing drawings should be utilized, adapted, and/or upgraded wherever appropriate. You will analyze and interpret architectural plans to create our product details. Keep all CAD drawings in a standard format to ensure consistency and readability.
In instances of new non-standard designs, you will be asked to create product drawings from scratch with the assistance of the designers. Skill and efficiency gained through prior experience with CAD techniques and toolbox are essential in these scenarios. Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to decipher structural/civil project plans and extract pertinent details (elevations, obstructions, connected structures, etc.), to incorporate into project specific drawings/designs. Requirements/Skills:
High school graduate w/ technical training/degree in CAD or drafting
Proficient in AutoCAD with 3 year experience
Knowledge of residential and commercial building codes and CAD concepts
