Project Management Director develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. Being a Project Management Director establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Project Management Director monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to top management. The Project Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Project Management Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • Summary
    DPS Group is seeking a talented Project Director to support the delivery of ongoing capital projects in compliance with the established business needs for our pharmaceutical client in Kalamazoo, MI. Successful candidates will establish and manage multi-disciplinary teams of client representatives to ensure successful project delivery. Work will transition from hybrid to full time onsite, candidates can be based in Raleigh-Durham or Kalamazoo.

    Responsibilities
    • Support the establishment and management of a multi-disciplinary team of client representatives (Staff and Contract) for project delivery, with direct reports including:
      • Project Controls
      • Technical & Engineering Design
      • Construction
      • EHS
      • Sustainability (may report to engineering design lead, depending on project)
      • Quality
      • Document Control & Project Administration
      • Automation & IT (may report to technical lead, depending on project)
      • CQV (may report to technical lead, depending on project)
    • Support the delivery of the project in compliance with the established Business needs.
    • Place Quality, Compliance and EHS&S at the forefront of the requirements for successful project delivery.
    • Use best endeavors to support client’s cost and schedule targets.
    • Establish robust, compliant & codified project controls procedures.
    • Support third party interfaces for the project including local and national agencies, authorities and service providers including the establishment of a communication process in this regard.
    • Support the establishment of a good working relationship with the partners and key providers in the best interest of the client.
    • Support the communication of the client’s expectations to the management of key partner companies.
    • Support the application of the highest standards of ethics are applied to all client activities on the project.
    • Facilitate the project governance process.
    • Provide regular formal and informal updates to client senior management throughout the lifecycle of the project.

    Skills and Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
    • 15 years of experience in Project Management covering all phases of project execution including design, construction, commissioning/verification, and operational readiness.
    • Must have experience with project delivery in the pharmaceutical or life science industries.
    • Proven team leader with a demonstrated ability to effectively implement business strategies and adept at working collaboratively within all levels of the organization.
    • Flexibility to travel to Raleigh, NC and Kalamazoo, MI.
    • Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.
