Project Management Director develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. Being a Project Management Director establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Project Management Director monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to top management. The Project Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Summary

    Oversees all interdepartmental operational aspects for designated projects. The Project Specialist serves as a liaison between customers and all departments of the company. Spearheads sales through leads, participates in trade shows, and cooperates with all Project Managers to plan new projects and communicate with clients. Ensures customer satisfaction, quality, timely delivery of projects, and proper project documentation according to project scope. Works with the Lead Project manager on project scheduling and operational activities. Troubleshoots and solves manufacturing problems related to the client's product with problem-solving skills and research. Assists as necessary in each part of product development.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Customer Liaison

    • Communicate all meetings with the client
    • Serve as the main point of contact between Jaycon Systems and client
    • Document all meetings, phone calls, emails with client
    • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to maintain project continuity, meet productivity, quality, client goals, and objectives
    • Ensure accurate client documentation, and others as needed

    2. Project Organization

    • Manage project scheduling
    • Establish and maintain all project engineering files relating to the contract and bid package records, plans, specifications, changes, clarifications, and as-built drawings
    • Writes a statement of work according to project scope discussed during preliminary meetings
    • Assist project managers in all facets of bidding, scheduling, proposal development and writing, project execution and cost management
    • Establish and maintain detailed procedures for the submittal, review, coordination, approval, and distribution of engineering drawings, samples, etc.
    • Expedite vendor estimates and proposals and prepare the appropriate company estimates and proposals for changes to be submitted to Operations Director
    • Track all data relating to projects, including, but not limited to, statement of work, CAD drawings, step files, BOMs, change orders, contract administration, and meeting minutes
    • Process all document and drawing changes and distribute them to the appropriate authorized users in a timely manner
    • Bid, perform scope analysis, create, and issue subcontracts

    3. Operations

    • Communicate project scheduling with assembly and production departments
    • Suggests new ways to optimize manufacturing production
    • Assures manufacturing activities are effective and on time
    • Assists in the development of quoting software by understanding Jaycon’s manufacturing process while analyzing and tracking each manufacturing activity
    • Purchases miscellaneous materials and requisitions equipment
    • Suggests new layouts of accurate lines and grades for all work
    • Checks and verifies dimensions within the design drawings regarding prototype and/or finished product
    • Troubleshoots and solves any problems related to the manufacturing of the client’s product
    • Other duties as assigned

    Skills

    • Ability and experience with project processes, people, and working with teams
    • Sales experience with cold-calling, following leads, and presenting at trade shows.
    • Problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
    • 3D CAD knowledge and experience
    • Experience organizing project-related data
    • Ability to review the status of projects
    • Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands
    • High level of professional communication skills, written and verbal
    • Must have excellent social and interpersonal skills
    • High level of accuracy and attention to details
    • Ability to manage time efficiently, to work both independently and in a team setting

    Requirements

    • Must have great math and problem-solving skills
    • Candidate has to be eager to learn new concepts, tools, and software
    • At least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified and 5 years of exposure to engineering and/or manufacturing
    • Knowledge of Injection Molding
    • Familiarity with the Manufacturing and/or Electronics industries a plus
    • Familiarity with Circuit board assembly

    Working Environment

    Little physical activity in an office environment. Requires mostly sitting on a chair operating on a computer, with occasional walking to greet customers. Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks.

    Works closely with: PMs, Engineers & Clients

    Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
