Project Management Director develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. Being a Project Management Director establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Project Management Director monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to top management. The Project Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Project Management Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Bohler is looking for Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) to join its employee-facing Operational Services Team (OST). Bohler’s OST includes business support functions like Strategy, HR, Communications, IT, Marketing, Legal, and Finance. OST ensures smooth day-to-day operations by meeting the needs of our diverse employees and enabling them to provide exceptional service to our clients. 

    As Director of the Project Management Office (PMO), you will partner with leaders to build a PMO from the ground up that will provide leadership for the internal project management functions of strategic, operational, and OST projects having a large impact on the firm. This role will oversee the direction of all PMO resources to ensure consistent project delivery, enhanced visibility, and continuous improvement of project management practices.

     What You’ll Do: 

    • Develop and implement standardized project management methodologies, policies, procedures, tools and templates across the organization 
    • Provide visible leadership and subject matter expertise in project management principles and disciplines  
    • Oversee all active projects, analyze status reports, identify risks and issues, and ensure mitigation plans are in place  
    • Oversee resource management and capacity planning for project teams and assets 
    • Partner with Strategy and Internal Communication teams to establish and manage project governance including steering committees, change management, and stakeholder communications plans  
    • Monitor key project metrics and health of project portfolio; report dashboard insights to executives 
    • Cultivate relationships and credibility with senior leadership and key stakeholders 
    • Drive process improvements by analyzing project data patterns and leveraging lessons learned  
    • Manage PMO budget, staffing, and operations to provide excellent service to business units

    What You’ll Need: 

    • Bachelors degree in Business, IT, or related field preferred  
    • 10 years’ experience in project/program management with 5 years in leadership role  
    • Proven ability to successfully deliver complex, enterprise-level projects and programs  
    • Proven track record transforming PMO capabilities and project delivery performance  
    • Expert knowledge of PMO best practices and project management methodologies  
    • Proficiency with project management software  
    • Strategic thinker able to link projects and programs to business priorities  
    • Strong leadership presence with ability to influence at executive levels  
    • Excellence building, motivating, and developing high-performing teams  
    • PMP/PgMP certification highly desired
