Project Management Director develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. Being a Project Management Director establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Project Management Director monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to top management. The Project Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. SUMMARY
· The Director of Project Management works closely with Sr VP of Operations, who oversees project managers of concrete and millwright work.
· The Director supervises the Project Manager/Safety Director
· The Director supervises the Logistics and Facilities Manager
· The Director participates in direct project work to accomplish all project objectives
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
Project Management
· Collaborate and communicate closely with Sr VP of Operations on projects
· Conduct regular meetings with Sr VP of Operations as well as direct reports
· Develop detailed work plans, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports of projects.
· Manage project timeline schedules in appropriate software (Hive or another tool)
· Work with Sr VP of Ops to ensure materials are ordered timely and cost-effectively
· Drive use of Hive software within Operations
· Interface with Engineering on project design and equipment ordering
· Work with IT to set up software systems for Project Management
· Work with Manufacturing to determine needed schedule
· Administrate software systems for project management
· Oversee safety in the entire company
· Oversee workforce housing
· Manage rental equipment
· Manage ordering and receiving of hoop building components
· Manage deliveries and inventory from Macon’s facility to sites and between sites
· Manage end of job paperwork and duties
· Manage jobsite cameras and internet
· Manage language learning program for employees
· Some travel will be required to different project worksites
· Identify and implement cost and time saving initiatives on projects
Internal Operations
· Oversee and help manage all vehicles and equipment
· Oversee and help manage grounds and building maintenance
· Oversee and help manage OneStep GPS for vehicles
· Oversee and help manage MaintainX software for vehicles and equipment
· Work with President on status of assets and aid in buying and selling assets
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s Degree in construction preferred
· At least 5 years of experience preferred in construction or a related field
· Comfortable with setting up and customizing various software platforms.
· Computer expertise including Outlook and Excel proficiency
· Must be able to understand and perform written and verbal instructions in English
· Knowledge of Spanish a plus
