Project Management Director develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. Being a Project Management Director establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Project Management Director monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. This role supervises two team sections: KC-135 Technical Services and KC-135 Regulatory Compliance and their project activities.
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
Facility Location:
Temecula, CA. Consideration may be given to candidates outside the local area defined as Riverside, Orange, and San Diego counties, CA, but candidates should expect to spend considerable time at the site in Temecula CA even if residing elsewhere.
Travel requirements are up to 50%.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required (preferred to be in a technical field).
Experience: At least 10 years prior experience in a commercial heavy-aircraft aviation maintenance environment is required to include at least 5 years prior experience leading a heavy-aircraft MRO operation under FAA part 145.
Certificates and Licenses:
Computer Skills: Aircraft maintenance documentation systems of record (i.e. FlightDocs, Corridor, etc.); Microsoft Office Suite
Education: Masters of Business Administration (MBA); and or Project Management Degree; and or Engineering Degree
Certificates and Licenses: FAA A&P license. Computer Skills: Microsoft Project management tools.
Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance. Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
Employee must be a US citizen.
Employee must be able to have and maintain a SECRET US security clearance.
