Project Management Director develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. Being a Project Management Director establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Project Management Director monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to top management. The Project Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Project Management Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Compensation range: $68,000K - $77,950K/Annually

    Position Summary

    Location: South Lake Union (Seattle, WA), New York City, NY, Washington D.C.

    Hours: Day Shift Monday - Friday 

     

    The POPs Project Manager plans, directs and coordinates activities of Splice projects with internal and external partners to ensure that the goals and objectives of each project are accomplished within scope and customer requirements.  

     

    Essential Functions- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  

    • Intake all POPs (post occupancy projects) requests via client ticketing system 
    • Vets requests to determine internal resources needed to move forward with projects 
    • Responsible for ensuring that project progress is on schedule and remains within scope 
    • Point of contact for all customer service related matters on job site 
    • Maintains communication with Operations on projects 
    • Responsible for Punch List review and for ensuring punch list items are completed 
    • Communicates project status with stakeholders as needed 
    • Coordinates crew scheduling, building access, product staging and assembly where applicable   
    • Attends internal and vendor partner meetings as required 
    • Critically thinking through issues without being assigned 
    • Read and interpret documents such as CAD drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals 
    • Ability to facilitate meetings with stakeholders and advanced presentation skills 
    • Regular travel to campus to provide onsite support preferred but not required

Ability to be flexible and work autonomously through unique scenarios and gray areas. Capability to identify points of escalation and engage appropriate parties. Relentlessly solve through all projects and potential setbacks.  

     

    Communication & Business Acumen: Effectively and professionally communicates to key stakeholders throughout project lifecycle. Proficient in both written and verbal formats. Determines and utilizes the appropriate communication channels. Employ active listening and respond with empathy.  

     

    Safety: Responsibility for working in a safe manner and comply with company safety processes and procedures. 

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

    • Bachelor’s degree or certification in Project Management preferred 
    • One or more years related experience and/or training in project management; or two or more years related experience and/or training in project coordination; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

     

    TECHNICAL SKILLS 

    • Essential Proficiencies: 
    • Microsoft Office Suite  
    • Ticketing or Customer Service systems 

     

    • Preferred Proficiencies: 
    • SmartSheet 
    • Graphic Design 
    • Web Development
