Project Management Director develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. Being a Project Management Director establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Project Management Director monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to top management. The Project Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Our Cabin Products team has an opening for a Director, Supply Chain Management. The Director plans and organizes all elements of product manufacturing and distribution related to the acquisition of materials and services. The Director owns the execution of long-term strategy and operational direction of significant size and scope. This role requires the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence senior executive leadership. Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis.

    Our Cabin Products team is a world leader in designing, developing, and manufacturing cabin interior products and services that deliver innovation, reliability and efficiency. Our broad range of offerings include aircraft cabin seating, lighting and engineering solutions, oxygen systems, food and beverage preparation and storage equipment, galley systems, water and waste systems, and advanced lavatory systems. We also collaborate closely with our customers to provide customized cabin interior reconfiguration, program management and certification services.

    The ideal candidate will be based within a commuting distance from one of these Collins Aerospace Cabin Products sites: Everett, WA, Lenexa, KS, Phoenix, AZ, or Winston Salem, NC. However, we will also consider remote based candidates.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Manages major responsibilities across multiple supply chain disciplines on a regular basis.

    • Performs supply chain activities that cannot be attributed to a defined discipline.

    • May also include professional employees required to perform activities across several disciplines on smaller sites.

    • Develops the supply chain management strategy in terms of operations, specific interventions, related costs and timelines, in line with the organizational strategy.

    • Resolves the underlying root causes of poorly performing supply base to enable material for operations, acts as escalation path for shortages.

    • Drives the teams to fight cost headwinds by putting in place plans for supplier negotiations, dual sourcing and work transfers.

    • Helps improve the financial cash cycle of the business by working through inventory reduction initiatives

    • Collaborates with Collins, RTX and BU level business general managers, value stream leaders, operations, planning and business development to deliver the best possible results and remove roadblocks for the team.

    • Defines systems and large scale processes for the function; Provides strategy and direction for collaboration with channel partners including suppliers, intermediaries, third party service providers and customers.

    • Conceptualizes, develops and monitors process improvements in supply chain management.

    • Directs budget planning & control on key parameters contributing to supply chain cost.

    • Drives and monitors adherence of import, export & excise regulation as per compliance.

    • Develops the team by building capability and bench strength to be more agile, lean and result oriented.

    Qualifications/Experience Needed:

    • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience

    • 10 years of supply chain experience (including but not limited to, strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain digital transformation, etc.)

    • Degree in engineering, supply chain, MBA, or related discipline

    • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements

    Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

    • Aviation or aircraft supply chain experience

    • New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle experience

    • Engineering, Management or leadership experience

    • Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI)

    • Experience leading global project implementations

    The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
