Project Management Manager manages and directs the work of project managers and provides managerial oversight for multiple projects. Monitors project scopes, costs, schedules, staffing, communications, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables. Being a Project Management Manager develops standards, processes, and tools used for effective project scheduling and to set and manage quality targets. Addresses internal or vendor issues that may impede project delivery and develops solutions. Additionally, Project Management Manager tracks at risk metrics and facilitates actions to keep projects on track. Establishes data collection and reporting processes to capture key metrics of project activities and to provide periodic reporting. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to a director. The Project Management Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Project Management Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Description

    SAIC is looking for a Project Manager that will be responsible for developing functional and technical documentation and coordinating activities to ensure completion within schedule. Following Agile Project Management guidelines, the candidate will be responsible for identifying project needs, establishing guidelines and daily objectives, and reporting project status. A successful candidate must be able to communicate verbally and in writing. Routine coordination with the Program Manager, technical staff, government customers, and teammates is critical to the success of the mission. Job responsibilities include:

    • Developing technical documentation and presentations with input from technical resources
    • Scheduling and coordinating meetings with all stakeholders to include providing agendas and meeting minutes
    • Meeting with government customers to document project requirements
    • Working with technical resources to document technical information and recommendations in a polished, professional presentation that is consumable for a non-technical audience
    • Developing project plans and schedules using Microsoft Project
    • Providing project reporting in JIRA, Confluence and MS Project
    • Leading other documentation efforts with inputs from technical resources
    • Acting as liaison between application owners (customers) and the technical team

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
    • 3 years of technical experience with leadership and management responsibilities
    • Demonstrated hands on experience leading and contributing to projects in a software development or DevOps environment
    • Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal
    • Proficient in MS Project, JIRA, and Confluence
    • PMP Certification. (Desired)

    Clearance / Citizenship Requirements

    • US Citizenship required
    • Must be able to obtain DHS Public Trust prior to starting work

    Target salary range: $105,001 - $115,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
