Project Management Manager manages and directs the work of project managers and provides managerial oversight for multiple projects. Monitors project scopes, costs, schedules, staffing, communications, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables. Being a Project Management Manager develops standards, processes, and tools used for effective project scheduling and to set and manage quality targets. Addresses internal or vendor issues that may impede project delivery and develops solutions. Additionally, Project Management Manager tracks at risk metrics and facilitates actions to keep projects on track. Establishes data collection and reporting processes to capture key metrics of project activities and to provide periodic reporting. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to a director. The Project Management Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. This position is responsible for gathering and analyzing data related to all aspects of project life cycles. This position works closely with team members across multiple functional areas of the organization and is responsible for team collaboration and escalation when necessary. This position also develops and maintains project documents and creates reports to track and share project progress. This position aids in creating project strategies and project plans to keep projects on schedule and within scope by performing the following duties.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in a related field; and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software. Must be highly skilled and practiced in MS Office Suite.
