Project Management Manager manages and directs the work of project managers and provides managerial oversight for multiple projects. Monitors project scopes, costs, schedules, staffing, communications, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables. Being a Project Management Manager develops standards, processes, and tools used for effective project scheduling and to set and manage quality targets. Addresses internal or vendor issues that may impede project delivery and develops solutions. Additionally, Project Management Manager tracks at risk metrics and facilitates actions to keep projects on track. A medium size commercial general contractor based in Yakima is seeking to hire a Project Manager to join their team. This is great opportunity to work for a well-established company that builds all types of commercial projects throughout Eastern Washington. Most of their work is negotiated and many of the jobs are medical related. This is intentional as the demand for healthcare facilities continues to increase for both hospitals and specialty clinics throughout the region. Most projects are in the $1M-$10M range but some jobs are as large as $20M.
The ideal candidate will be someone that wants to live in or around Yakima and sees it as a great community to raise a family and appcreciates the social/economic differences between the West side and the East side of the state. Some of the differences include lower housing prices, lower taxes, less politics as well as proximity to hunting, fishing, camping. skiing, golfing, etc.
Project Manager Roles & Responsibilities
· Participate in estimating for all incoming projects.
· Build construction schedules as required.
· Review all incoming sub bids and vendor quotes for each job.
· Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits.
· Document, prepare and negotiate all change orders.
· Monitor direct labor expenditures, productivity and jobsite safety.
· Prepare monthly billings and job cost reports.
· Close out all jobs to client’s satisfaction.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years experience in commercial construction management.
· BS degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering.
· Familiarity with construction management computer software.
· Strong leadership skills and experience in personnel management.
· Must have good time management and organizational skills.
