Project Manager - Construction directs day-to-day construction project management planning and execution processes to meet project design requirements, schedules, and organizational financial objectives. Manages governance of projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools for effective project management throughout the project lifecycle. Being a Project Manager - Construction uses comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and operations to set project productivity and quality targets. Monitors all project milestones, changes, and technical status reports. Additionally, Project Manager - Construction manages strategic client and contractor relationships and establishes clear lines of communication. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Project Manager - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Project Manager - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Job Summary
    The Project Manager will be responsible for managing multiple site development and heavy civil construction projects throughout the Central Florida area. This position is responsible for supervision of projects from contract award through final completion and will serve as the intermediary for all communication between the client, engineer, applicable governing authorities, internal company personnel, etc.
    Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate with Project Estimator as projects are awarded.
    • Review contract and specifications in its entirety.
    • Initiate project buyout process and prepare purchase orders for suppliers/vendors.
    • Engage subcontractors as required and prepare subcontracts.
    • Coordinate and track project submittals and shop drawings.
    • Ensure all required permits/clearances are obtained prior to commencement of work.
    • Prepare/maintain project scheduling and update throughout duration of project.
    • Prepare and maintain NPDES permits, SWPPP, and monthly monitoring and inspections.
    • Provide technical engineering information to project field supervision and crafts to ensure construction work complies with applicable engineering standards, codes, and specifications.
    • Coordinate with Project Superintendent, as necessary.
    • Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce to resolve project challenges and conflicts.
    • Prepare monthly project pay applications and submit/track change orders, extra work requests, and cash flow projections.
    • Manage project document control to include submittals, schedules, contract documents, project record drawings, etc.
    • Review Heavy Job daily time and quantity reports for accuracy.
    • Comply with notice requirements such as inspections, testing, survey staking, utility locates, etc.
    • Issue correspondence to subcontractors and vendors when revised plans and/or specifications affect products or services.
    • Coordinate and manage project close-out documentation.
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
    • Exceptional organizational and planning skills.
    • Computer proficiency (programs include Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, HCSS, AGTEK, Bluebeam).
    • Previous experience with Site Development and Heavy Civil Construction preferred (Earthwork, Utility Installation, Roadway Infrastructure).
    • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management a plus.
