Project Manager - Construction directs day-to-day construction project management planning and execution processes to meet project design requirements, schedules, and organizational financial objectives. Manages governance of projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools for effective project management throughout the project lifecycle. Being a Project Manager - Construction uses comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and operations to set project productivity and quality targets. Monitors all project milestones, changes, and technical status reports. Additionally, Project Manager - Construction manages strategic client and contractor relationships and establishes clear lines of communication. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Project Manager - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Project Manager - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Responsibilities include:
- Contributing to Project Proposals
- Organizing pre-construction feedback into contracts
- Setting up billings
- Prompt processing of paperwork and cost information
- Maintaining lead time information on projects
- Executing agreements and change agreements with customers and vendors
- Collaborating on RFI responses
- Managing take-offs
- Writing scope letters
- Managing communications with teams, clients and office staff
- Drafting subcontracts
- Overseeing punch list completion
- Cost reporting

In order to be successful in this role you’ll need the following skills & experience:- Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural degree, or equivalent preferred
- Intermediate understanding of how to read plans and specifications
- Field experience a plus
- Effective written and verbal communications skills and organizational skills
- 1 - 2 years experience in construction or engineering a plus
- Self-directed with excellent interpersonal skills and calm under pressure
- Organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability work with a team on solutions
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and MS Project
- Experience with Procore a plus
