A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER/ESTIMATOR

As an assistant project manager/estimator, you play an essential role assisting the lead project manager/estimator with all phases of the bidding process beginning with searching for bidding opportunities all the way through construction and project close out. You enjoy the variety inherent in your job and receive satisfaction from winning bids, completing projects efficiently and within budget, all while helping JL Construction to continue to build on their reputation in the field for quality work.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER/ESTIMATOR

• Degree in construction engineering management, civil engineering, or a related engineering field
• 1 years of relevant experience in the field of excavation/horizontal construction
• Ability to interpret bid documents, plans and all other related project/construction documents
• Experience with performing takeoffs and ability to calculate, analyze and adjust estimates
• Knowledge of state bidding practices (MA/ CT)
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn industry-specific software programs quickly
• Must possess exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to travel locally to various job sites/ meetings as needed

WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time salaried position typically works days, Monday - Friday.

Work from home potential as needed.
