Job Description:
We are looking for a career-minded individual to be a part of our accounting team in the Norfolk Corporate office full-time: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will utilize basic accounting and administrative principles to support the Property Management Accounting Department. The individual will be responsible for accurate and efficient processing of daily accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
● Process AR/AP transactions for tenants, owners, and vendors in AppFolio Property Management software
● Update and maintain accounting ledgers and other records detailing financial transactions (ex. receipts, accounts payable, disbursements)
● Verifies accuracy and appropriately codes invoices and other accounting documents
● Respond to email requests in a timely and organized manner
● Review and process new management agreements and vendor set-up requests
● Investigate questionable data and recommend actions to resolve discrepancies
● Enter and maintain confidentiality with sensitive client and vendor information and transactions
● Assess tasks and prioritize them to ensure completion upon deadlines
● Comply with state and federal landlord/tenant regulations
● May be asked to perform other duties as required within the Accounting Department
Qualifications:
● Candidate must have general accounting education or work experience
● Proficiency with computers and similar technology
● Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications preferred
● AppFolio Property Manager software knowledge is a plus
● Previous property management experience is a plus
● Ability to work in a team and independently
● Accuracy and efficiency is a must
● Attention to detail
● Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills
