Property Casualty Underwriting Manager manages and oversees the property/casualty insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups, such as accident insurance, crime insurance, loss of property insurance etc. Implements guidelines and procedures regarding risk exposure, application renewal, acceptance, modification, and denial. Leads and trains the underwriters to ensure integrity of property and casualty underwriting activities and processes. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Manager experienced in risk management and complex applications. Provides consultative support for large accounts. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Property Casualty Underwriting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Key Job Responsibilities:
- Manage rent collection
- Receive maintenance work orders and coordinate completion with maintenance team and tenants
- Serve as the main point of contact for tenants
- Manage utility provider accounts
- Advertise, show, and lease vacancies
- Conduct property inspections
- Oversee the general upkeep of properties
- Arrange tenant move-ins/move-outs
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Facilitate property insurance policies
- Photograph properties
- Perform occasional company errands
Requirements and Qualifications:
- No prior property management experience necessary
- Quick learner able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Tech-savvy and able to become proficient in Buildium property management software
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
