Property Casualty Underwriting Manager manages and oversees the property/casualty insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups, such as accident insurance, crime insurance, loss of property insurance etc. Implements guidelines and procedures regarding risk exposure, application renewal, acceptance, modification, and denial. Leads and trains the underwriters to ensure integrity of property and casualty underwriting activities and processes. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Manager experienced in risk management and complex applications. Provides consultative support for large accounts. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Property Casualty Underwriting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    Responsible for the day-to-day site operation of the apartment community and building(s). Responsible for quality service to the residents, efficient operation of the building economically and socially. 


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Training in property or real estate management preferred. 

    Experience: 1-2 years of managerial or administrative experience. Professional training may substitute for experience.

    Requirements

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Codes invoices in a timely and accurate manner for approval. 
    2. Maintains resident records to comply with appropriate affordable housing regulations. 
    3. Maintains the property online system to accurately reflect the current properties operational circumstances. 
    4. On a monthly basis, advocates collection of rent and other income, forwards rental payments to the corporate office. 
    5. Prepares and delivers notices to residents
    6. Coordinates move in date with maintenance rent ready date. 
    7. Manages the leasing process from initial application to move-in. This includes orientation of applicants to the property, rules and regulations, and the city to which they will be moving. 
    8. Follows and enforces all fair housing, local landlord tenant laws and regulations. 
    9. Effectively markets the property to ensure budget compliance and a positive community image of the property. 
    10. Ensures that the property meets financial performance goals. 
    11. Manages customer service requests and ensures timely and satisfactory completion. 
    12. Collaborates with site team and residents to create and strengthen a healthy community, facilitate on-site communication, and monitor property goals. 
    13. Maintains waiting list in accordance with federal regulations. Ensures that the top three applicants are qualified and certified to move in prior to a notification of a vacancy. 
    14. Enforcing the agency regulations, lease, and house rules. 
    15. Ensures that maintenance managers have timely unit turn management, processing invoices, and curb appeal is maintained. 
    16. Accurately codes daily time in the online system.

     

    AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) REQUIREMENTS:

    Physical: Frequently required to perform moderately difficult manipulative tasks such as typing, writing, etc. Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods. 

    Sensory: Frequently required to read documents, written and financial reports, and plans. Must be able to distinguish normal sounds with some background noise, as in answering the phone, interacting with residents and staff, etc. Must be able to speak clearly and understand/be understood using the English language. 

    Cognitive: Frequently required to concentrate on moderate detail with constant interruption. Must be able to attend to a task/function for 20-45 minutes at a time. Frequently required to understand and relate to specific ideas, several at a time. Must be able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over a period of several days. 

    Environmental Conditions: Frequent exposure to seasonal weather. Occasional exposure to toxins and poisonous substances, dust, and loud noises. 

    Equipment: Frequently required to use a computer, phone, and fax machine.
