Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor jobs in Bellingham, WA

Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor oversees activities of the property/casualty underwriting department. Provides supervision for a group of underwriters who review, analyze and inspect property/casualty insurance contracts, which includes accident insurance, crime insurance, loss of property insurance. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor experienced in risk management and complex applications. Analyzes various rate plans utilizing a company's claims history to determine the appropriate rate plan and benefits costs. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor may assist with analysis of large accounts. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Primary Position Objectives


    Provides oversight of the Property/Logistics area in accordance with DOL, PRH, Contract Center and LifeSkills Connection Inc.’s requirements regarding all property of the Center.

    Administration
    Procedures
    • Composes routine and general type correspondence based on warehouse activities and Center activities.
    • Receives all vendor deliveries to the Center, records the transaction and ensures accurate distribution.
    • Contact directors to relay information from the property office.
    • Devises, modifies, and maintains comprehensive filing system of all transactions.
    • Assists supervisor with receiving of new equipment and places proper identifying decals; assists with making additions to EPMS and SITS.
    • Maintains accurate records for all property and warehouse inventory.
    • Distributes supplies to staff and students and maintains accountability.
    • Attends meetings, prepares, and distributes minutes of these meetings.
    • Keeps record of all reports sent from Center and ensures they are mailed on proper date and develops tickler system to ensure timely submission of responses requested from LifeSkills Connection Inc. and DOL.
    • Works towards meeting performance standard goals.
    • Follows CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily.
    • Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulation, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), LifeSkills Connection Inc.’s policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
    • Adheres to required property control policies and procedures.
    • Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
    • Demonstrates and abides by LifeSkills Connection Inc.’s core values and operating principles.
    • Models, mentors, monitors appropriate Career Success Standards.
    • Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.
    • Participation in PRH mandated staff training is mandatory. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Three years related experience preferred.

    Education

    High School Diploma or equivalent

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations


    Valid State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
