Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor oversees activities of the property/casualty underwriting department. Provides supervision for a group of underwriters who review, analyze and inspect property/casualty insurance contracts, which includes accident insurance, crime insurance, loss of property insurance. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor experienced in risk management and complex applications. Analyzes various rate plans utilizing a company's claims history to determine the appropriate rate plan and benefits costs. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor may assist with analysis of large accounts. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. As a Commercial Lines Account Manager your primary responsibility is to manage customer needs and service commercial accounts. In this position, successful candidates need to have adaptability, attention to detail, initiative, and strong listening/communication skills to work in a team-based environment.
- Provide proactive day-to-day client service by anticipating client needs and responding to client questions and issues in a timely manner.
- Review client exposures, loss experience, current coverages, and recommend appropriate products and services on an annual basis.
- Create and present new and renewal proposals to new and existing clients.
- Communicate clients' needs and binding instructions to carriers.
- Manage client accounts receivables to ensure timely collection of premiums and payments to carriers.
- Utilize the agency management system in an accurate and timely manner to enter and maintain all pertinent account information.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.
- Utah Property & Casualty License required or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
- Professional designations, such as CPCU, CIC, or CISR, preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
