Associate, Cost Effectiveness
  • Evidence Action
  • Washington, DC FULL_TIME
  • About the Cost-Effectiveness team

In this role you will report to the Senior Manager of Cost-effectiveness who leads our team. Our team helps inform organizational priorities, programmatic decision-making, and resource mobilization as we pursue high-impact programs. We estimate the cost-effectiveness of our full portfolio of programs, ranging in interventions from early stage programmatic activities, programs operating at scale, and those expanding to new geographies.

In the early program stages we start by conducting back-of-the-envelope calculation (BOTEC) costing and impact estimation. For our scaling and at-scale programs, we review large volumes of cost and program monitoring data to assess the CE and estimate the impacts of our work. And, for Evidence Action’s more mature programs we explore the expansion of our successful programs to new geographies by conducting BOTEC CEAs to inform geographic prioritization and scoping efforts.

Through it all, we foster an atmosphere of growth and learning, encouraging constructive feedback and providing opportunities for both growth where we can empower our team members to make decisions and contribute meaningfully to Evidence Action’s mission.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support development of cost effectiveness analysis, including detailed costing, incorporating evidence on intervention effectiveness.
    • Conduct literature reviews, interpret findings to extract relevant impact estimates, and engage with colleagues and external experts to identify the highest-quality inputs to use.
    • Collaborate with global and country finance and program colleagues to gather and analyze program financial and cost data.
    • Periodically update models with revised inputs and revised assumptions when the team is presented with relevant new evidence.
    • Support the development of internal and external communication products (such as blog posts and presentations) to engage with various audiences on the cost-effectiveness of various interventions.
