Job Summary:
The Miner is responsible for the mining of rock and or using hand tools and powered equipment. The Miner will be responsible for the safe and efficient mining operations. The Miner will be required to wear a proper safety gear, such as safety glasses, gloves, and boots. The job requires working in extreme weather conditions, which includes exposure to heat, cold, dust, and rain. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has a strong work ethic.
Essential Functions:
·Operate equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining safety standards at all times.
·Maintain proper inventory of material on site.
·Maintain work area in an orderly fashion to facilitate efficient mining operations.
·Load or unload material from vehicles using hand tools or powered equipment.
·Follow procedures for safe mining operations while maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
·Maintain work area by cleaning tools, equipment, and work area with a solution or with a regular brush or vacuum (as applicable).
·Communicate with Lead Operator regarding operational status of equipment and issues that may arise during the course of the job.
·Report any safety issues or concerns to appropriate personnel.
·Perform other duties as assigned by management or Supervisor.
Skills:
·Ability to lift heavy objects – up to 50 lbs. – is required. This includes using overhead cranes if applicable. Heavy objects include rocks, dirt, gravel, logs, trees, etc.. These objects may be moved by hand or through cranes. (i.e., hoists). Lifting of objects up to 50 lbs., without assistance (i.e., picket bar cranes), is required on occasion during the course of the job (not always but when needed).
