Provider Contracting Manager manages the activities of the contracting staff that prepare and maintain contracts and the contracts database system for a health plan network. Responsible for negotiating with facilities joining the health network and setting rates. Being a Provider Contracting Manager oversees network reporting requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, and to produce accurate and relevant reporting of data. Trains and develops staff. Additionally, Provider Contracting Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Provider Contracting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Provider Contracting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Provider Contracting Executive initiates, negotiates, and executes physician, hospital, and/or other provider contracts and agreements for an organization that provides health insurance.

    The Provider Contracting Executive communicates and strategizes internally and externally contract terms, payment structures, and reimbursement rates to providers. 

    Typical Role Responsibilities, but not limited to:

    • Analyze financial impact of contracts and terms.

    • Maintain contracts and documentation within a tracking system.

    • Assist in identifying and recruiting providers based on network composition and needs.

    • Advise executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance.

    Required Qualifications

    • 8 years of progressive network management experience; this can include: hospital, ACO, and or physicians/group contracting in a healthcare company

    • 2 years of project management experience

    • Provider contracting experience, including contract preparation, negotiation and implementation, financial analysis and rate proposal development.

    • Ability to travel within a designated area (Texas and/or Arkansas) up to 20% of the time

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree

    • Experience contracting with large hospital systems

    • Experience with ACO/Risk Contracting

    • Experience with Value Based Contracting

    • Texas and/or Arkansas market experience (live within region, preferred TX or AR)

    Pay Range

    The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


     

    $93,000 - $128,000 per year


     

    This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
