Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Property Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our properties. The Property Manager will be responsible for ensuring property maintenance and repairs and managing tenant needs. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience (more experience preferred, but training is available for the right candidate) and have basic carpentry, plumbing, drywall repair, painting and general overall handyman skills. In addition to applying these skills to the property manager and maintenance role, this position will also have the opportunity to work on more contracting style projects such as decks, flooring, kitchen and bathroom renovations/remodels and other larger scale improvement projects. Duties:
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety and maintenance standards
- Preform maintenance and general repairs including light plumbing (troubleshooting leaks, clogged rains, etc.), drywall patching/repair, painting and other general handyman level issues
- Manage subcontractors (plumbers, electricians) as necessary
- Address tenant concerns and resolve any issues that arise
- Assist with, or depending on experience level manage, larger renovation and remodeling projects (kitchens, bathrooms, apartment turnovers, decks, etc.)
- Snow plow in winter, lawn mow in summer, spring and fall clean ups in the in-between seasons
- Participate in on-call rotation; Stipend available for days you are on call
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work constructively in a small team and interact professionally with tenants, contractors, and other stakeholders
- 3 years minimum experience (more experience preferred, but training is available for the right candidate)
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, drywall repair, painting and general handyman skills
- Experience with home renovation and remodeling projects (kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, decks, etc.) preferred although not required (will train the right candidate)
- Reliability, professionalism and honesty a must
- Attention to detail and pride in workmanship a must - we are looking for candidates who care
- If experience level is at the lower end of the range, a positive attitude and thirst and desire to learn new skills a must
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ownership of own basic handtools necessary to preform day-to-day maintenance tasks preferred
