Provider Contracting Manager manages the activities of the contracting staff that prepare and maintain contracts and the contracts database system for a health plan network. Responsible for negotiating with facilities joining the health network and setting rates. Being a Provider Contracting Manager oversees network reporting requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, and to produce accurate and relevant reporting of data. Trains and develops staff. Additionally, Provider Contracting Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Provider Contracting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.     This position will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing Mercyhealth’s Supply Chain and other contracts with a strong legal acumen, ensuring compliance, minimizing risks, and fostering positive vendor relationships. This position supports and assists Supply Chain and other leaders in meeting organizational objectives through effective contact formation and management. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in supply chain management, contract negotiation, and legal expertise.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

    • Develop, review, and negotiate supply chain contracts, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Supply Chain, Information Security and other teams to gather contract requirements and specifications.
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and payment conditions with a legal lens.
    • Identify potential legal risks associated with supply chain contracts and implement strategies to mitigate them.
    • Stay updated on industry regulations and legal trends to ensure compliance and minimize legal exposure.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal contract documentation, including amendments and addendums.
    • Assist in addressing vendor deviations from performance standards.
    •  Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE  

    Bachelor’s degree required. JD (Juris Doctor) preferred.

    Experience in healthcare and/or supply chain preferred but not required.

    Minimum of two years of experience in supply chain contracting or a related legal field.

    CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE                    

    Professional certification in related field preferred

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring).

    Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check.

    Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.

    • Familiarity with relevant software and tools for contract management.
