    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Regional Medical Director oversees medical care quality and operations at the regional level. They collaborate with administrative and executive teams to develop service plans and ensure consistent patient care. This role also involves providing medical services to patients.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead activities related to medical care delivery, cost management, and quality assurance.
    • Develop clinical policies and protocols, collaborating with the management team.
    • Work with insurance plans to achieve clinical goals.
    • Lead disease management programs and supervise risk coding.
    • Participate in the recruitment and selection of medical staff.
    • Assess and appraise provider performance.
    • Assist in budget development and evaluation of clinic goals.
    • Present clinic performance reports to leadership.
    • Monitor and maintain the quality of medical services.
    • Supervise professional education and staff orientation.
    • Contribute to the development of care delivery policies.
    • Oversee documentation and care planning.
    • Review practice management functions periodically.
    • Ensure high standards of medical care through patient satisfaction surveys and complaint reviews.
    • Maintain regulatory compliance for clinics.
    • Provide oversight for advanced practice nurses and physician assistants.
    • Address physician behavior and impairment issues.
    • Manage adverse events and develop improvement plans.
    • May provide direct patient care within the clinic's scope.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Requirements

    • MD or DO from an accredited school of medicine.
    • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the selected state.
    • Relevant education, training, and experience demonstrating ability to perform duties. 
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a primary care clinic Medical Director preferred.
    • Board certification in a primary care specialty preferred.
