PROVIDER NETWORK MANAGER manages the operations of a healthcare provider network. Responsible for establishing and maintaining processes and systems to provide routine services to members including contract management and credentialing. Being a PROVIDER NETWORK MANAGER recruits, hires, trains, and measures performance of staff to provide effective and operations within budget. May be involved with the design and operations of database systems used to manage provider data and produce reports and analysis. Additionally, PROVIDER NETWORK MANAGER requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The PROVIDER NETWORK MANAGER typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a PROVIDER NETWORK MANAGER typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support our offices in Newport News and Hampton.

Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for oncology patients in an outpatient setting
- Initiate and document appropriate interventions
- Evaluate and record patient and family response within practice protocol
- Prescribes drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation
- Assess patient and family needs and provides education
- Promotes/provides staff education
- Serve as a liaison between inpatient, skilled nursing, and home setting
- Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice
Qualifications- Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program or successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Two years of post Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant hematology/oncology experience is preferred
- Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiological and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment
- RN State License and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state, along with current state certification of Nurse Practitioner or current state license as a Physician Assistant
- Current CPR certification required
- Must be willing to travel to the various practice locations
