Munson is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Information Technology and Network Manager. This is a full time, on-site position, located in Utica, NY.
Job Summary
The Information Technology (IT) and Network Manager is responsible for maintaining Munson's institution-wide IT systems infrastructure, workspaces, classrooms, and computer labs. The IT and Network Manager develops standards for networking and computing and is responsible for the planning and implementing business continuity, system, and data security, and disaster recovery efforts.
Essential Job Functions
Administer/Maintain Systems
Maintains network security and backup systems
Provides network support across organizational operating systems
Coordinates equipment installs, upgrades, and configurations of equipment and software
Oversees security access to all systems and assures security procedures are maintained and met for all systems, networks, and enterprise information, facilitates IT security audits or investigations, and implements corrections
Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers and administers access to such services
Information Services
Oversees and administers the web-based and data services used throughout the organization
Works with departments for development of web based content management systems, learning management systems, and internal database systems
Assures compliance with security, distribution, and use of collected and stored data
Supervisor Responsibilities
Supervises the team of Technicians, Specialists, Database & Web Content Manager and work study students
Hires positions within the department, assuring all required training is accomplished in a timely manner and that the team has the necessary equipment and tools to successfully accomplish their tasks
Organizes, schedules, and assigns projects and tasks across the department.
Planning and development
Leads the planning, development, and implementation of the IT infrastructure and computer systems. Develops and implements business continuity to minimize disruption to business operation in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
Sets standards, develops, and implements policy and procedures pertaining to the use of computer systems, network infrastructure, and shared electronic resources.
Budgeting
Analyzes IT infrastructure, systems performance, and end point systems to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs to maintain operations throughout the organization.
Works with divisions and departments to establish needs vs. desires to minimize costs.
Organizational Service
Serve on interdepartmental committees as requested and complete other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Required
Associate’s degree or equivalent certifications
Minimum of 7 years in a related management role
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and forward
Experience with Fortinet Firewall, Switches, and Access points
Excellent communication skills and professional interpersonal skills to interact with Munson staff, faculty, and students
Strong math, reading, analytical, and deductive/inductive reasoning skills
Effective organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and follow through on all assignments with minimal direction
Strong communication skills for training and assisting users
Critical thinking, consensus building, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Proficiency in multi-platform systems and technology, operating systems, office suite software platform to include, but not limited to, Microsoft and Google Workspace.

Salary Range $70,000 to $80,000
