Provider Network Specialist coordinates and evaluates the contracts of a healthcare provider network. Participates in the negotiation of contracts and prepares reports and analysis of contract details and statistics. Being a Provider Network Specialist distributes contract information, status updates, and other information within the organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Provider Network Specialist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Provider Network Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Network Support Specialist Intern

  • ACDS is working with our company partner, Prairie Grove School District to add a Network Support Specialist Intern to their team in Northwest Arkansas! An ideal candidate will have a strong blend of people and tech skills and will work onsite in Prairie Grove (NWA).


    The ACDS Internship Program places selected candidates with employers across Arkansas in IT positions to gain experience under the guidance of a professional mentor/IT support team.

    What You'll Do...
    • Monitor a wide variety of information and network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP systems, servers, storage, backup, operating systems, and core applications
    • Perform basic systems testing and operational tasks, such as installation of patches, network connectivity testing, and script execution
    • Provide timely responses to incidents, outages, and performance alerts
    • Monitor, maintain, diagnose, and repair computer equipment in 4 school buildings within the Prairie Grove School District
    • Communicate professionally with technical and non-technical audiences
    • Provide end-user IT support and answer inbound phone calls, emails, and/or chats


    What skills does an ideal candidate have?
    • Knowledge of Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Cloud Technologies (Active Directory, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), and LAN/WAN/Wireless networks
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
    • Strong willingness to learn and work with a team
    • One or more of the following certifications is a plus, but not required: CompTIA A , Network , IT Fundamentals, Security , Cloud , Server


    Our Must Haves...
    • Ability to work full-time immediatley following the 3 month internship
    • Ability to work in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship
    • Current Arkansas resident
    • Ability to pass a standard background check
    • High curiosity and interest in learning new technologies and growing or starting your IT career
    • Exhibited technical aptitude through projects or previous experience and ability to communicate what you know


    Details
    • Pay: $15/hour
    • Schedule: 40-hour week: typically 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday
    • Length of Internship: 3 months 
    • Location: Prairie Grove Public Schools: Prairie Grove, Arkansas (Northwest Arkansas, 10 miles West of Fayetteville)

    How does the interview process work? ACDS will conduct an initial phone interview and assessment. ACDS will send selected resumes to companies that match the candidate’s skills and interests. Our employer partners will decide who to interview and select the final candidates for the internship program.
