Provider Network Specialist coordinates and evaluates the contracts of a healthcare provider network. Participates in the negotiation of contracts and prepares reports and analysis of contract details and statistics. Being a Provider Network Specialist distributes contract information, status updates, and other information within the organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Provider Network Specialist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Acts in a technical capacity, reviewing, testing, administering, troubleshooting, and documenting integrated network systems and environments. Recommends improvements as necessary to support a highly available, 24x7x365 fault-tolerant network environment. Provide direction, support, to systems and technologies. Duties include but are not limited to daily proactive monitoring of assigned network systems, participating in planning activities for all aspects of systems support, having knowledge of operational procedures, communication with functional departments, creating and maintaining system security, documenting, and assisting in executing project-related activities.
This position works 100% on-site.
- Require a minimum of five (5) years related work experience supporting network systems in a large enterprise environment. Bachelor degree in computer-related field may substitute for the required work experience or certifications.
-Prefer Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification with expectation to be kept current (within ninety (90) days of hire).
- Prefer the ability to develop accurate system documentation and detailed test plans.
- Prefer the ability to develop operational procedures required for the successful implementation of new or upgraded network voice systems.
- Prefer the ability to participate and advise on disaster recovery initiatives.
- Prefer knowledge of network security protocols and concepts, along with appropriate application of such in various circumstances.
- Prefer hospital experience.
- Prefer a cursory understanding and recent knowledge of best practices related to the design, administration, security, and maintenance of enterprise network systems and components to include LAN/WLAN/WAN, and general IP technologies.
- Prefer knowledge of network security protocols and concepts, along with appropriate application of such in various circumstances.
- Prefer the ability to working on projects individually and with limited supervision.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to administer and troubleshoot various types of network systems.

- Prefer the ability to maintain adequate voice software levels to ensure optimal performance and security against known vulnerabilities .
