Participates in the negotiation of contracts and prepares reports and analysis of contract details and statistics. Being a Provider Network Specialist distributes contract information, status updates, and other information within the organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. Job Purpose: The Reconciliation Specialist is responsible and accountable for all aspects of patient financial service regarding reconciliation of payment and charge issue from the various offices as well as insurance and patient payments.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
· Supports the billing process by reconciling daily charges and payments received.
· Supports the reimbursement process with timely deposits.
· Sorts and batches insurance and patients checks. Monitors and documents electronic payment receipts and deposits.
· Performs daily remote deposits. Maintains and updates daily deposit reports for accounting reconciliation.
· Sorts and distributes Billing Department incoming mail.
· Maintains a detailed, daily record of insurance and patient receivables.
· Maintains a log of all batched deposits to ensure and assist with timely daily and monthly closes.
· Maintains operations by following Finance Department policies and procedures.
Academic Training:
· Associate’s Degree in accounting or business - preferred
· High School Diploma or GED equivalency - required
Position Requirements/Experience:
· Cash reconciliation experience with associate’s degree, or minimum 1 years experience without associate degree.
· Must be organized and focused on detail.
Technical Skills:
· Proficient computer literacy including ability to use computers and related technology efficiently – required
· Basic Microsoft Products knowledge. Excel experience required
· Knowledge of office procedures and office machines (computer,fax,copier)
