Asheville Museum of History Seeks Programs Manager
The Asheville Museum of History is seeking a Programs Manager with experience developing and implementing engaging educational programs for K-12, family, and adult audiences. The mission of the Asheville Museum of History is to preserve and promote the history and legacy of Western North Carolina through interpretation, education, collection, and collaboration. Operating in the Smith-McDowell House, an architecturally significant home built circa 1840, the Asheville Museum of History is a center of history education dedicated to interpreting the natural and cultural history of our region through exhibitions, collections, programs, and publications.
Job Summary
The Programs Manager develops, presents, evaluates, and supports engaging programming in a wide variety of formats interpreting the Museum's exhibits, collections, and other regional history topics for K-12, family, and adult audiences. The Programs Manager reports directly to the Museum’s Executive Director and also assists the Executive Director with the overall management of the organization.

Salary & Work Schedule
Starting annual salary range is $40,000 to $45,000, depending on education and experience. In addition to salary, the Programs Manager will also receive a healthcare and retirement stipend and is eligible for paid leave.
This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week on a flexible work schedule, as needed for scheduled programming and events.
