Provider Programs Manager oversees the provider network administration function of an organization. Collects data, analyzes and reports on claims, utilization, costs and changes. Being a Provider Programs Manager reviews existing and future reimbursement policies, regulations and guidelines. Ensure competitiveness of provider network by the deployment of cost effective programs and systems that deliver results that meet cost control and quality goals of the organization.     Responsible for oversight of various student-centric educational, recreational, social, and cultural programs to enhance student involvement and success.

    Responsibilities:
    Union Program Council-specific
    55%: Manage Union Program Council (UPC) activities. Serve as lead to team members who advise, plan, implement, and evaluate diverse engagement programs and activities facilitated by UPC. With direction of the department head, assist in the development and implementation of a UPC-volunteer student development training program that enhances committee participation, progressive student development, and leadership skills.

    Assist with event planning and execution, volunteer recruitment, and training of volunteers. Collaborate with department head to facilitate the development of event co-sponsorships with other campus organizations, departments, campus programming committees, and other stakeholders. Conduct student programming evaluations and assessments. Ensure work environment allows for the creative development of programs, events, et al.

    Contracts-specific
    25%: Ensure compliance with Union and university policies and procedures regarding UPC contract negotiation, execution and enforcement with agents, performers, entertainers, venues, and the like. Serve as lead to bid UPC programs and events and negotiate contract terms. Submit contracts to university counsel for legal review prior to execution. Seek final contract review and approval from supervisor. Execute contract while ensuring agreed upon provisions are met.

    Financial-specific
    15%: Serve as lead in budget development for each UPC committee and department.Monitor and ensure spending is within financial parameters. Process documentation in order to submit timely payment requests and receipts of expenditures to the business office.

    Assist with presentation to the university’s Student Governing Association (SGA) to advocate for student service fee funding for UPC-specific programming. Ensure compliance of all terms of student service fee-funded agreements and audits.

    Departmental functions
    5%: Hire, train, supervise, assign projects, and assess performance of UPC employees. Coordinate overall work flow for UPC staff. Provide expertise, experiential knowledge, support, and guidance regarding UPC to stakeholders and the community. Prepare reports, recommendations, findings, and other correspondence as required. Furnish administrative and programmatic support to the department and Union.

    Remain current and competent by developing professional contacts with colleagues; seek out professional development opportunities, etc. Serve as a member of internal and external committees. Perform other duties as assigned and instructed.

    Qualification Requirements:
    Education – Minimum

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two years of demonstrated experience; or
    • Master’s degree from an accredited institution and one year of demonstrated experience.

    • Advising or working with students from a variety of social and economic backgrounds;
    • Ability to develop future community leaders;
    • Planning and executing events;
    • Supervisory experience;

    Experience – Preferred Demonstrated

    • Work or volunteer experience in a college environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in public relations, marketing, and/or event planning, particularly in student activities.
