    JOB SUMMARY
    Effective July 1, 2024, this campus-based position will provide academic leadership and guidance to support the mission, vision, and goals of the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education (ACHE) and all educational colleges within its realm. This will be accomplished in part through strategic planning and preparation, oversight, and administration of the budget(s) as approved by the Chief Executive Officer/President and Board of Trustees. The Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs will also be responsible for overseeing the process of achieving and maintaining accreditation in the appropriate degree programs offered by ACHE. Additionally, the Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs will be responsible for the educational outcomes of the students and graduates; curriculum development, delivery, evaluation and revision of ACHE degree programs; and the recruitment, retention, and development of faculty and staff. He/She will be responsible to ensure that ACHE has the resources, facilities, faculty, staff, and affiliations required for delivery of the educational, service, and research missions of ACHE.
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    • Advises the President on academic policies and procedures, strategic planning, and long-range budgeting for ACHE.
    • Prepares and submits to the President and the Board of Trustees a quarterly report that details the operations, outcomes, long and short-range plans and status of ACHE’s educational programs.
    • Provides guidance and support to ACHE’s Deans and Program Directors, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Student Affairs, and the Taylor Library.
    • Ensures that accreditation standards and requirements set by state, regional, programmatic accrediting bodies, and the USDE are met.
    • Administers student, faculty and staff personnel policies and procedures for ACHE in accordance with established policy and procedures approved by the Board of Trustees.
    • Provides guidance and assistance in the recruitment of academic leadership and faculty.
    • Chairs the ACHE Faculty Promotions Committee.
    • Responsible for the recruitment and development of all direct reports, including updating job descriptions.
    • Other duties as assigned by the President.
    QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
    Education and Experience
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Terminal Degree (PhD, EdD, DO, MD, DPT, or OTD).
    • Three (3) years of experience as a Vice/Associate Provost or Dean with oversight of a student enrollment of at least 400 students on a campus that includes a medical school.
    • Experience generating proformas for new programs and organizing/leading self-studies.
    • Proven record of securing accreditation in healthcare programs.
    • Demonstrated leadership, productivity and administrative experience with faculty, staff, and students in professional, research, and educational settings.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • At least ten (10) years of combined experience as a Provost, Vice/Associate Provost, Dean, and/or Assistant/Associate Dean.
    • Clinical, academic, business operations, and legal experience/expertise suitable to allow him/her to provide mentorship and leadership for students and faculty.
    • Professional involvement and positions of leadership in healthcare professions, associations, and organizations.
    • Significant achievements with scholarly activities, publishing, scientific research, and all aspects of grant management.
    • Experience with distance education.
    Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
    • Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office.
    • Display professionalism for the college in all communication and interaction.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
    • Ability to prioritize and organize numerous and varied assignments.
    • High-energy, versatile, self-directed.

    • May be required to transport oneself to other campus offices, conference rooms, and on occasion, to off-campus sites to attend meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.
    • May require significant travel or work away from campus.
    • Requires attendance at events representing ACHE both within as well as outside of the college setting.
    • Frequently required to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations.
    • Frequently required to see for purposes of reading matter.
    • Frequently required to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
    • Occasionally required to lift items in a normal office environment.
    • Frequently required to operate office and presentation equipment.
