    Job Summary

    This position provides high-level administrative support to the Vice Provost for Academic Planning and provides support for programs reporting to the Vice Provost.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide high-level administrative support for Vice Provost - Serve as the primary contact for the Vice Provost in managing the effectiveness and efficiency of the office. Proofread, prepare, and send out correspondences initiated by Vice Provost. Accurately and effectively disseminate information through email and letters.
    • Provide Support for Programs Reporting to Vice Provost Office - Independently manage the calendar, set up appointments, and balance priorities. Organize and support meetings as needed by taking meeting notes, coordinating events and action items. Provide support for the following programs reporting to VP.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    Good communication and strong people skills. Demonstrated sound judgment in balancing priorities in completing daily tasks. The individual must be able to handle more than one assignment at a time and interact positively and professionally with faculty, staff, students, and others. This position requires a self-starter, who will take the initiative to pitch in and help others when necessary, and who takes the initiative to suggest improvements to the operations of the Vice Provost. Commitment to student success is essential.

    Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

    Education and Experience

    Equivalent to five years of administrative support experience required.

    A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.

    • Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

    Compensation

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

    Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $3,865 - $5,000 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

    CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,865 - $6,336 per month.

    Time Base

    1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

    Duration of Appointment

    This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
