Psychiatrist jobs in Boston, MA
Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice. Psychiatrist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

The successful applicant will have demonstrated strong capabilities in managing the full scope of general psychiatric conditions, treatment, and diagnoses. Training and experience in providing ECT is preferred. Applicants traditionally underrepresented in medicine are encouraged to apply.
