Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Board Certified)
Our outpatient continuum care practice is hiring a experienced psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with at least 1-2 years of experience practicing as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. We offer continuum care to children, adolescents, adults and strive to offer the highest quality care to patients, families and their loved ones. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner you will be expected to conduct initial psychiatric evaluations, follow up visits of medication management, medication management and brief psychotherapy, a blend of in office and telepsychiatry visits, administration of evidence based scales, documenting all encounters via our MEDENT EMR system.
Requirements:
1-2 years of PMHNP experience required minimum
· NYS PMHNP licensure
· Board Certification ANCC
· NYS DEA Certificate
