Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice. - Free yourself from having to work behind a desk and the ticking clock of outpatient practice and enjoy the freedom to practice psychiatry based on patient needs and your clinical judgement, delivering care to patients where they live.
Qualifications/Education:- Board Certified in Psychiatry with all NC practicing privileges
- Geriatric Experience Preferred
- Strong leadership qualities
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
