Psychiatrist jobs in Columbus, GA
Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice. Psychiatrist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

- Our 84 bed freestanding behavioral and mental health center is recruiting a BC/BE Adult Psychiatrist for our employed practice. Candidates with a fellowship or heightened interest in Geriatric, Addiction (suboxone certification welcome), TMS therapy or Women’s Mental Health will be welcome additions to the team.

- We provide services for children, adults and senior care with admissions operating 24/7/365.
- The team services almost all Adult and Geriatric needs via both inpatient and outpatient facilities
- The Center has a large outpatient clinic, 24 bed Adult Inpatient unit, Adult partial hospitalization unit, 24 bed Crisis Destabilization Unit with additional 6 observation beds and 13 bed Geriatric unit
- All facilities conveniently located on one campus, each building just steps from the other
