Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice. We are searching for a BC/BE Psychiatrist licensed (or willing to be licensed) in TX. 

    Compensation: $140 - $150 per hour plus bonus opportunity  

    Position Summary:  

    • Psychiatrist will see about 1 patient encounter per hour 
    • 7 and 12-hour shifts (12am-7am, 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am) 
    • Respond immediately to med consult requests received during a scheduled shift 
    • Provide recommendations for assessment, treatment, and monitoring including prescribing medications within limit of applicable  
    • Perform psychiatric hold evaluations in ED as needed 
    • Utilization of the following EHRs Intelligent Routing, and Meditech 
    • MindCare will assist in the cost to get licensed if Psychiatrist already has one compact licensure; we may request additional licenses as well 
    • Psychiatrist will evaluate and treat patients referred for the assessment and treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions, behavioral health disorders, and comorbid conditions. Provide recommendations for assessment, treatment, and monitoring including prescribing medications within limits of applicable 
    • MindCare utilizes productivity compensation models

    Qualifications: 

    • Psychiatrist is required to be licensed in TX 
    • Board Certified or Eligible (within 1 year of residency completion) in Psychiatry

    • Required to be well-versed in telemedicine technologies and EHR programs
