Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice. Position Status: Full-time | Monday - Friday | 8am - 5pm
Salary: Provider compensation at NWHS works on a salary basis. The base salary for a psychiatrist - ranges from $246,792 to $308,464, and up to $370,136. Salary is DOE.
YOUR ROLE: Diagnose and treat patients of the Primary Care department for psychiatric conditions. Monitor medications for an ethnically diverse patient population with medical and behavioral health problems. Provide brief intervention strategies and develop treatment plans for patients. Collaborate and consult with medical providers, mental health staff, and other partners to ensure effective treatment for patients with behavioral health disorders. Clinical supervision of medication activities of the clinic nursing staff.
