Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice. Korzen Health has been retained by a newest inpatient behavioral health practice located in Lafayette, Indiana. Our clinic is a state-of-the-art, 48-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital for mental health, addiction and dual diagnosis patients.
2023 graduating residents and visa applicants will be considered. We are seeking candidates who are board certified or board eligible in psychiatry. We would love to explore this opportunity with you!
Responsibilities :
The current schedule consists of 5 days per week working 8-hours of in-house coverage, plus daily admissions. You will be responsible for the collaboration with advanced practice clinicians, medical management and PHP assessments, attending team treatment meetings, and covering intakes during the day.
5 days onsite and 5 days tele Mon - Fri 8a - 5p is an option.
