Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice.     Wage Range: $150 to $275/hour (Depending on License)

    Porters Neck Counseling located in Wilmington, NC is looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Adult & Child Psychiatrist (MD/DO), or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing practice. This is a PT or FT position with flexible hours and great pay! We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience in providing psychiatric services to patients. Provider responsibilities include patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans in accordance with all federal and state statutes, regulations, and protocols regulating the profession. This provider must be able to prescribe, recommend, and/or discontinue medications and treatments to treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders in accordance with all state and federal regulations. Our office offers in-office and telehealth appointments. This position is ideal for someone who is hard-working and able to work independently, accurately, and efficiently with strong ethical standards. Other characteristics we look for in a candidate are integrity, honesty, and adaptability. Specifically, someone who is able to provide a high quality of care for our patients and finds comfort working with culturally diverse backgrounds!

    Qualifications

    • Fully Licensed by the state of North Carolina as either a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Adult & Child Psychiatrist (MD/DO), or Physician Assistant (PA) 

    This will be a contract position providing in-office and Telehealth services. We are only seeking a fully licensed provider who is already credentialed on at least one of the following commercial insurance panels including BCBSNC, Cigna, Medicare, Humana, United Healthcare, AETNA, and/or Humana Tricare.
