Additionally, Psychological Services Director typically reports to top management. The Psychological Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Somerset is looking for a dedicated Psychological Services Associate, Corrections to join our team and ensure the psychological needs of individuals are met while in custody with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Psychological Services Associate (PSA), in Corrections, your role will involve providing psychological services to incarcerated individuals in a State Correctional Institution. Working under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist Manager, your main objective will be to address the mental health and emotional needs of the population efficiently and effectively. This includes assisting in the planning and organization of outpatient mental health services, administering psychological and intelligence tests, conducting mental status examinations, preparing psychological assessments, and providing individual and group treatment for various inmate populations.     Work Schedule and Additional Information:


    • Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
    • This position is eligible for 50/55 Retirement
    • Shift will be determined at time of hire
    • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $60,693 (before taxes).
      • Additional pay will be considered for those who currently possess or obtain licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, or Professional Counselor issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselors. Documentation will need to be provided at interview to receive additional pay consideration.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


    • A Master's degree in psychology or a closely related field, which includes fifteen graduate level credits in psychology, counseling, educational counseling, rehabilitation, human development, learning, or motivation.

    • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
