Provides psychological assessment and treatment, and neuropsychological screening. Reviews charts, preadmit information and prior medical records in preparation for assessment and treatment. Provides brief or more indepth assessments based on relevant clinical issues. For psychological assessments and neuropsychological screens, makes brief initial summaries in the patient's chart on the day of assessment and insures the full assessment is filed in the medical record within 72 hours of the completion of the assessment. Collaborates in the treatment of brain injured patients in coordination with the patient care team for conducting effective family intervention and education, and behavioral interventions for agitated and brain injured patients. Consults with team members and patients/caregivers to facilitate an understanding of assessment results and treatment plans.
EDUCATION
Minimum: Possess an earned doctorate in clinical psychology from a university or school of professional psychology with academic specialization and pre-doctoral internship in health or rehabilitation psychology.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Minimum: Licensed as a Psychologist in the State of California. AHA BLS certified.
YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum: 2 years post-doctorate clinical experience, at least 1 of which is in an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team setting where psychology is practiced regularly
