Job Description:
The Psychologist offers mental health treatment and services tailored to the unique needs of university students in the campus community. The Psychologist functions as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in Mental Health Service, consisting of psychologists, clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, and a psychiatrist. The Psychologist should have a deep appreciation for the integrated care model, collaborating with the Medical Clinic, Wellness and Health Promotion and Lighthouse Program teams. In addition, the Psychologist should be committed to advancing the divisional priorities of quality, access and inclusion, and mattering and belonging.
Job Responsibilities
Direct Student Service - 65%
Provides individual, couple, and group psychotherapy, using best practices appropriate for a university setting, both in-person and through telehealth with an emphasis on a brief model of psychotherapy. Conducts initial assessment services including walk-in, crisis intervention, intake for treatment, and referral of students to community and campus resources. Provides mental health consultation to faculty, staff and parents to help them address the needs of their students in distress.
Collaborative Care & Intern Supervision - 15%
Manages caseload, consulting with fellow providers in the Student Health Center as needed for peer review and collaborative care practices. Attends all team, unit and departmental staff meetings, and other meetings as requested. Provides expertise in the development and structure of psychologist internship program that is currently on hiatus. Provides training to mental health interns through didactic seminars, consultation, and direct supervision as needed. Provides outreach and presentations to the campus as needed.
Documentation & Quality Control - 15%
Carries out administrative responsibilities including documentation, appointment scheduling, community referral follow-up in keeping with departmental policies and professional standards. Participates in annual quality improvement studies, chart reviews, and required annual training for the center.
Other Duties - 5%
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director, Mental Health Service.
Support broad divisional/institutional efforts including at least 40 hours per year helping with initiatives such as Move-In Day, Welcome Week, Family Weekend, Career Expo, Disability Services Finals Testing, and other special projects.
Minimum Qualifications

PhD or PsyD in Psychology

Three years in the practice of Psychology in a clinical setting.

Must possess license to practice Psychology in Louisiana, eligible to transfer license from another state, or be eligible to work towards Louisiana licensure if not yet acquired.
Preferred Qualifications
-
PhD with expertise in young adult development and clinical experience working with this population.

Experience working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary health/mental health center.
