Psychologist - M.A. jobs in Beaumont, TX
Psychologist - M.A. evaluates patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, and determines the appropriate course of treatment for the patient. Being a Psychologist - M.A. uses talk therapy to treat patient illness or distress, cannot prescribe medication. Requires a master's degree in clinical psychology. Additionally, Psychologist - M.A. requires a valid state license to practice. Typically reports to a medical director. The Psychologist - M.A. work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. To be a Psychologist - M.A. typically requires 7+ years of related experience. QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY
MINIMUM EDUCATION- A current unrestricted license
- A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical psychology or counseling psychology
- Completion of a clinical internship
- Possible additional requirements for specialties
QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge of psychological theories, principles and techniques is mandatory.
- Clinical internship
- Valid unrestricted state-issued license to practice clinical or counseling psychology
- Completion of 5.5-week Officer Training School course
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 42
