Psychologist - Ph.D evaluates patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, and determines the appropriate course of treatment for the patient. Being a Psychologist - Ph.D uses talk therapy to treat patient illness or distress, cannot prescribe medication. Requires a PhD in clinical psychology. Additionally, Psychologist - Ph.D requires a valid state license to practice. Typically reports to a medical director. The Psychologist - Ph.D works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.       Qualifications Required:

      • Master’s Degree in Education Psychology or School Psychology
      • Michigan Department of Education approval as a school psychologist

      Qualifications Desired:

      • Knowledge of state and federal mandates that relate to the evaluation and identification of students with disabilities
      • Ability to analyze, interpret and report quantitative and qualitative data
      • Strong understanding in Multi-Tiered-Systems-of-Support (MTSS)
      • Experience with data based decision models for continuous improvement and/or intervention planning
      • Expertise in assessment including curriculum based measurement and diagnostic practices
      • Ability to be self-directed and self-motivated
      • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with students, parents, and staff members
      • Excellent organizational skills
      • Ability to work as a team member
      • Possess technology knowledge and skills.
      • Knowledge and Experience with Behavioral Analysis including Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.

      Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

      • This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
      • The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day.
      • Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with some travel to other schools or field trip locations.


      Work Year & Salary: Per the MDMEA Agreement

      Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life, long- term disability, retirement, and paid time off per the bargaining unit contract
