We are seeking a Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our well established Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery practice in New Orleans and Hammond. This is a long-term opportunity where you can be part of a smaller team and not get lost in the numbers of a big office.
The right team member would be skilled in greeting patients and making them feel comfortable. They would have the ability to multitask and work well under pressure. Flexible in assisting in surgical procedures including dental implants, bone grafting, tooth extractions, etc.; included but not limited to taking x-rays, interacting with patients, and sterilizing all surgical instruments. In addition, support the front desk in greeting and assisting patients, answer the phones, scheduling appointments, entering treatment plans, verifying insurance, and submitting claims.

Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday at the Hammond office and Tuesday and Friday in the New Orleans office. You will be required to help and assist the front office staff. You can choose to be part-time in either New Orleans or Hammond. Or full-time and work in both offices.

Receptionist/Dental Assistant Responsibilities
· Schedule, reschedule, and cancel all patients’ appointments either over the phone or follow ups in the office
· Greet and assist all patients as they arrive
· Preparing patient charts and keeping them up to date
· Verify patient’s insurance eligibility
· Process of insurance and secondary insurance claims
· Follow up on insurance claims submitted
· Assist patients with applying for credit and other financial assistance
· Provide the Doctor with administrative and practical support when asked
· Maintain a clean and organized office
· Compliance with HIPPA regulations
· Taking x-rays
· Sterilizing all surgical instruments
· Assisting in surgical procedures
Dental Assistant Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent
. Dental assisting in oral surgery/EDDA certification or planning on getting it in the next six months
· X-Ray Certification
· CPR Certification
· One year experience as a Dental Assistant
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Must be dedicated to excellent customer service
· Ability to multi-task efficiently
· Excellent computer and typing skills
· Confident using office machinery (printers, fax machines, photocopiers, etc.)
· Mask are required by staff
· Vaccinations are required: Full Covid-19, Hepatitis
Nice To Have
College diploma
Working knowledge of dental jargon, billing, and insurance procedures
Previous office experience and understanding of office professionalism, procedures and processes a major plus.
